Bob-omb Blast is a battle mode for Mario Kart: Double Dash!! and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It is when all the item boxes are Bob-ombs, and you try attacking the other battling racer. There are three stars on your game screen in two player mode (four on three and four player battles). When blowing up your enemy, one of your empty stars will be filled up with a star of your opponent's color, not your own. The first player is red, the second player is blue, the third player is green, and the fourth player is yellow. To win the battle, you must fill up the star meter with the required number of stars depending on how many players are in the battle. You get to steal your opponents' stars in this battle, too! This battle never returned for any other game. In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the start meter is removed, and the players will need to score the most points as possible before the time runs out.
