The Blue Paratroopas are a trio of Koopa Paratroopas in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and its remake Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey, also having a role in the latter's Bowser Jr.'s Journey.

Profile[]

Physical description[]

All three Blue Paratroopas wear a Blue Shell, blue shoes, and a pair of shades, giving them somewhat of a resemblance to Shady Paratroopas from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Aside from their shades, Blue Paratroopas otherwise have the appearance of a regular Koopa Paratroopa.

Behavior[]

While they are not enemies, the Blue Paratroopas are shown to initially have a tendency to argue on two different occasions, the first being when Mario and Luigi unleashed Shell Blocks all over the overworld and the second is when the brothers obtain seven of the Attack Pieces of Peach's Castle Gardens. In the latter, the leader of the trio is not as uptight, but he still tells Mario and Luigi that they owe them 30 coins to cover the "medical expenses" for one of the Blue Paratroopa's case of "punks-got-my-7-pieces-itis."

In Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story[]

Mario and Luigi are awarded all ten Attack Pieces after they complete their training of using the Shell Mario attack

Mario and Luigi first encounters the trio in the skies above Toad Town. Here, after they hit the giant Shell Block, releasing Shell Blocks all across the overworld, this prompts the attention of the three Blue Paratroopas. After some arguing, the leader of the trio tells Mario that the blue shell fits him nicely and trains the Mario Bros. how to use the Shell Mario move while on the overworld. After completing the exercise, Mario and Luigi are rewarded all ten Attack Pieces of Toad Town, enabling them to use the Yoo Who Cannon attack in battle.

The Blue Paratroopas are later encountered again in Peach's Castle Gardens after Mario and Luigi acquire seven Attack Pieces in an Attack Piece Block. The leader tells the Mario Bros. that the Attack Piece Block was one of their more valuable possessions. The other two Blue Paratroopas are mad that Mario and Luigi took the Attack Pieces, and demand that they return them. One of them exaggerates that he has a symptom of "punks-got-my-7-pieces-itis." While the leader of the trio is not as uptight, he tells Mario and Luigi that they owe them thirty coins for the Blue Paratroopa's "medical expenses." Mario and Luigi said it was not enough, and instead offered 300 coins, which the Blue Paratroopa leader believes is too much. As the Mario Bros. hand over a bag of coins with the 300 coins, the Blue Paratroopas are shocked. To repay Mario and Luigi for their kindness, the Blue Paratroopa leader circles the general locations of the other three Attack Pieces on the map. When asked for more details, the Blue Paratroopa says that these Attack Piece Blocks are invisible and suggests that the brothers jump around to find their exact location.

Blue Paratroopas make their final appearance when Dark Bowser unleashes a dark wind around the entire Mushroom Kingdom.

In Bowser Jr.'s Journey[]

Aside from retaining their role in the Nintendo 3DS remake of Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, the Blue Paratroopas make an appearance in the Bowser Jr.'s Journey sub-game, being featured in two missions: Friend or Foe? and The Three Forgotten Brothers. After being defeated in each missions, the Blue Paratroopas are recruited as Bowser Jr.'s allies.
