Blooper Nannies are a variant of Blooper and a recurring enemy in the Super Mario series. They first appear in Super Mario Bros. 3.

Blooper Nannies are encountered in aquatic levels, being followed baby Baby Bloopers. On their own, they shoot about in the water like a normal Blooper. However, with their juveniles, they pose more of a threat. The juveniles eventually start to circle the adult before they rocket in four different directions, possibly harming the player.

In Super Mario series[]

Super Mario Bros. 3[]

Blooper Nanny SMB3 sprite

Blooper Nannies behave just as normal Blooper do, only being followed by three Baby Bloopers. This creates an extra challenge, as the Blooper Babies trailing along the Blooper Nanny can do just as much damage to Mario or Luigi as a regular Blooper can. Like regular Bloopers, Mario or Luigi can also defeat a Blooper Nanny as well as Baby Bloopers using the same means, such as by shooting fireballs while in their Fire form or by spinning a tail on it while in their Raccoon or Tanooki form. Defeating a Blooper Nanny earns the player 100 points.

New Super Mario Bros. sub-series[]

In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, New Super Mario Bros. U, New Super Luigi U, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Blooper Nannies behave just as they did in Super Mario Bros. 3.

Super Mario Maker/Super Mario Maker 2[]

Blooper Nannies also appear as placeable enemies in Super Mario Maker, its Nintendo 3DS version, and Super Mario Maker 2. In the first game, Blooper Nannies compatible with all graphic styles, but in Super Mario Maker 2, Blooper Nanny is not usable in the Super Mario 3D World style.
