Blooper Baserun is a minigame which appears in Mario Super Sluggers. It takes place on the Daisy Cruiser stadium at daytime.
Gameplay[]
The object for each participant is to run around the bases and collect the most Coins within 60 seconds; in this sense, the minigame is a successor to either Chain Chomp Sprint or Star Dash from Mario Superstar Baseball. The controls for moving around the bases are the same as in other parts of the game. Gooper Blooper sits in the center of the stage, as the minigame's obstacle, and the characters have to avoid being hit by his tentacles. Coins, money bags, and treasure chests give the player a certain number of points. A Super Star makes an appearance at times, and touching it causes the character to become invincible. During this, the character can steal points from their opponents by touching them.
About halfway into the minigame, Gooper Blooper does a spin attack, following a scenario in which the player has to hit the button shown onscreen. If the correct button is pressed on time, the character dodges the attack, but if the character is unsuccessful, they become stunned temporarily. After attacking, Gooper Blooper becomes briefly idle.
