The Blast-o-Matic is seen as a large laser gun that is capable of destroying islands.
During the events of the game, K. Rool created the Blast-o-Matic in attempt to destroy Donkey Kong and his friends once and for all. The Blast-o-Matic is always set to point at DK Isles should Donkey Kong or the others fail on their quest. However, fortunately for the Kongs, Snide has created a way to at least slow down the Blast-o-Matic involving collecting blueprints throughout the journey. Collecting all of the blueprints in the game results in the Blast-o-Matic being slowed down by one minute per blueprint. There are 40 blueprints in all in the game and 10 minutes are already added to the time meaning the Kongs have 50 minutes to clear through Hideout Helm to shut of the Blast-o-Matic. The Kongs can do so by completing challenging mini-games in the Blast-o-Matic generator room. After doing so, the Blast-o-Matic is successfully shut down and K. Rool makes a run for it with his primary goal failed.
- The Big-o-Blaster from another Rare game, Banjo-Tooie, is very similar to the Blast-o-Matic as they are both weapons of mass destruction that must be shut down as the primary objective of the game.
- Even after the Blast-o-Matic has been shut down, if the player chooses to quit after beating the game, the Game Over screen will still show K. Rool about to destroy DK Isles with the Blast-o-Matic.
