Bikes are a new element in Mario Kart Wii and are an alternate means of driving to Karts. Although they feature the same basic attributes, there are differences. Bikes typically weigh less than karts; they are able to perform wheelies to boost one's speed for about four seconds (albeit at the cost of a reduced turning ability) but can be cancelled earlier by hopping or making a sharp turn; and Bikes are rendered incapable of performing Super Mini-Turbos, with the exception of Mario Kart 8. Similar to karts, Bikes are classified by weight. They're recommended for Time Trials because they have superior turning and their ability to conduct wheelies, and also that they can do midair tricks too. The following is a list of all of the bikes in Mario Kart Wii. They appear in all weight classes.

Mario Kart DS[]
Despite Bikes not appear as a class of vehicles in Mario Kart DS, one of Waluigi's special karts, the Zipper, is a tricycle. Also, R.O.B.'s ROB-LGS has three wheels and therefore can also be considered a tricycle.
