A Beezo is a variant of Shy Guy which first appears in Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic and its overseas Mario conversion, Super Mario Bros. 2. They are winged enemies that carry a spear and wear a mask like Shy Guy.
In Super Mario Bros. 2[]
Beezos are encountered in swarms. It is possible for the player's character to stand on a Beezo and ride it, although a Beezo always flies in a single direction. There are two variants of Beezos: red and gray (or green due to the Nintendo Entertainment System's hardware limitations). The difference is that the red ones first dive at the player's character before charging at them, although the gray ones move faster.
Beezos also appear in the remakes, Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario Advance. They act the same but have been recolored; the gray variant was recolored red, while the red Beezos were recolored yellow.
In Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars[]
Here, they are named Shy Away, and are servants of Valentina, whom they are frequently seen watering. Beezos are encountered in Land's End, Belome Temple, Bean Valley, Nimbus Land, and Bowser's Keep.
