The Beanstar Pants are a clothing item featured in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga Nintendo 3DS remake Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions
In the games [ ] Beanstar Pants can be bought from the clothes store of Beanbean Castle Town for 500 coins . In the Japanese version, the Beanstar Pants cost 1,750 coins, significantly more than in international releases. Despite this, instead of increasing Defense by 60 like in international versions, the Beanstar Pants grants only increases Defense by 55 in the Japanese version.
In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions , the Beanstar Pants only become available in the clothes store of Beanbean Castle Town once the Beanstar has been restored. It costs 780 coins to buy Beanstar Pants, and they can be sold for 180 coins. It was now made only usable by Luigi . Aside a stat change of increasing HP by 15 and Defense by 41, the Beanstar Pants were repurposed into temporarily granting DEF-Up at the start of the battle, meaning Luigi receives a 50% increase of his Defense during this time.
