The Barrel Train is a lightweight kart that originally appeared as Diddy Kong's signature kart in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. It has since made a few other appearances, including cameos within the Super Smash Bros. series.

Mario Kart: Double Dash!![]
The Barrel Train is an unlockable kart, and unlocking it requires the player to finish 150cc Star Cup in first place.
Like other unlockable karts, the Barrel Train is usable by any lightweight character, but unlike most lightweight karts, the Barrel Train has low acceleration, although it has good speed.
After being struck by a Thunderbolt, this kart is the only one in the game to gain speed during a spin-out, such as those caused by hitting a Banana.

Mario Kart 7[]
The Barrel Train returns as a kart piece. It instead has has four wheels instead of six wheels and lacks the back green part. The CPU Donkey Kong can occasionally use this kart body.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS[]
The Barrel Train appears as a trophy in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, retaining its Mario Kart 7 appearance with Donkey Kong on it.
