Banzai Bills are a recurring enemy in the Mario franchise. They first appear in Super Mario World.

Profile[]

Physical description[]

Banzai Bills are a variant of Bullet Bills generally depicted as large, black bullets with a shark-like smile on their face. Hotel Mario gives them a more unusual appearance of being closer in size to Bullet Bills and sporting a Bullet Bill's characteristic limbs.

Behavior[]

Banzai Bills are often fired from somewhere off-screen and travel slowly toward Mario or another playable character. Their arrival is heralded by a firing noise; in 2D platformers, they started out arriving from nowhere, but in more recent games and the 3D games, they are spawned by cannons as large as the Banzai Bills themselves are. In most appearances, a Banzai Bill can be defeated from being stomped, although Fireballs and Ice Balls are ineffective against Banzai Bills.

In Super Mario series[]

Super Mario World[]

Banzai Bill Sprite - Super Mario World

Banzai Bills are enemies fired from somewhere offscreen and travel in the direction of Mario or Luigi a straight line, being avoided by getting out of their way, though their size makes this somewhat hard; as such, there is often a pit that Mario can duck into. A Banzai Bill can be defeated by either jumping on it or by touching it while under the effects of a Starman. If a Banzai Bill is defeated, the player earns 200 points.

Banzai Bills appear in three levels, Yoshi's Island 1, Valley of Bowser 3, and Awesome. In Yoshi's Island 1, the first level of the game, Banzai Bills appear without Bullet Bills, so they are encountered before Bullet Bills. Here, players have indicators that the Banzai Bills are approaching, some of which are marked by indentations on the ground. A total of four Banzai Bills spawn in this level. Players can hop into these indentations to avoid the Banzai Bills. The first Banzai Bill has no indentations, but players can duck to avoid it. Two Banzai Bills spawn near a segment with a Trampoline and cloud platforms on the top, though both Banzai Bills have an indentation on the ground for players to hide in. The cloud platforms on the top can be used to avoid the incoming Banzai Bill as well. The fourth and last Banzai Bill of the level is not marked by an indentation, but players can avoid it by hopping on a platform nearby. In Valley of Bowser 3, three Banzai Bills appear, and they all spawn near the end of the level where there are no stationary platforms. In Awesome, four Banzai Bills appear in the level, and they all spawn in the area with purple-colored pillars and platforms and blue Warp Pipes.

During the Fall event, Banzai Bills do not change sprites, unlike Bullet Bills, which change into Pidgit Bills. Since sprites for Super Nintendo Entertainment System games are limited to 64×64 pixels, the in-game Banzai Bills appear to be flatter horizontally than depicted in artwork.

New Super Mario Bros.[]

Banzai Bill Painting

A Banzai Bill in New Super Mario Bros..

Banzai Bills return as enemies, appearing more rarely than in Super Mario World along with their cannon, which appears only once at the end of the two levels they appear in, World 7-5 and World 8-1, just before the flagpole. As with Super Mario World, they can be defeated with a jump, through the use of a Starman, or with a Mega Mushroom. If Mario or Luigi are under the effects of a Mega Mushroom, they can additionally destroy Banzai Bill Cannons as well.

Banzai Bills retain most of their design from Super Mario World, except that their coloring has a slight purple hue, and they have red shadows under their eyes to make them look more intimidating, which has appeared on them in almost every game since. A Banzai Bill's animation has been changed, and they now spin instead of staying in one position.

Super Mario Galaxy[]

Banzai Bill Reactor

A Banzai Bill in Super Mario Galaxy.

Banzai Bills appear only in the final course, Bowser's Galaxy Reactor, specifically during the mission, The Fate of the Universe. Banzai Bills are found on the Lava Tower Planet, a tunnel-shaped planet filled with lava and square-shaped platforms. As with New Super Mario Bros., they are fired out of specific Banzai Bill Cannons at a set rate, and, due to the additional 3D space, comes in rows and lines. Unlike Super Mario 64, they do not home in on Mario's or Luigi's position as how Bullet Bills behave, though their size makes them more difficult to avoid. To avoid them, Mario or Luigi must wait until one passes by, or attempt to backflip over it. Because Banzai Bills are fired in a pattern, Mario and Luigi can also find patterns where it is safe to pass by them. If a Banzai Bill touches Mario or Luigi, he is knocked away. They are indestructible in this game, as jumping on them does not defeat them, similarly to in Super Mario 64.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii[]

Banzai Bill Elevation

Banzai Bill NSMBWii model

Banzai Bills return as enemies, retaining their behavior from New Super Mario Bros. They were given a new standard appearance, with both a rounded, recessed mouth and red marks behind the eyes. Banzai Bills can be jumped on to either defeat them or to reach higher areas. As with most enlarged versions of enemies, an Ice Flower freezes them only very briefly and this does not halt their progression on their path. Banzai Bills appear mostly in World 7. Additionally, the game introduces two varieties of Banzai Bills, Bull's-Eye Banzais and King Bills.

Banzai Bills are first encountered in World 7-NSMBW Tower Icon. After the playable characters pass the normal Bullet Bills while on a Tilt Lift, they encounter a column of hidden Banzai Bill Cannons, indicated by the rate of fire of the Banzai Bills. Players need to adjust the Tilt Lift with their Wii Remote sensor to steer away from the path of the Banzai Bill.

In World 7-4, Banzai Bills are encountered in the second area of the level, where they are launched by the only visible Banzai Bill Cannon in the game. The characters have to dodge Banzai Bills by platforming across moving Warp Pipes to access the only stationary red Warp Pipe on the screen.

In the Prima Player's Guide, Banzai Bills are mistakenly called King Bills, despite being different enemies.[1]

Super Mario Galaxy 2[]

Banzai Bill Fleet

Banzai Bills about to be launched from the cannons.

Banzai Bills return as enemies, retaining their attack patterns and durability from Super Mario Galaxy. They can be defeated by either using a Rainbow Star or the Spin Drill and award a large number of Star Bits.

Banzai Bill are more common, no longer appearing only in the final course. Banzai Bills are first encountered in Sky Station Galaxy in the mission, Storming the Sky Fleet. The planet, the Sky Fleet Ship, has a long line of Banzai Bills, where players must avoid them by running around them until they find a hole they can drop into. In this level, players can use a Rainbow Star to defeat them by running into them as Rainbow Mario. In Bowser Jr.'s Fearsome Fleet in the missions Bowser Jr.'s Mighty Megahammer and Megahammer's Daredevil Bash, they are spawned during the fight with Megahammer; the center of Megahammer's chest cavity contains a cannon that can fire a single Banzai Bill, though Megahammer additionally fires several Bullet Bills as well. Banzai Bills are featured as obstacles in Fleet Glide Galaxy and two missions, Fluzzard's Wild Battlefield Glide and Fastest Feathers in the Galaxy, where Mario or Luigi rides Fluzzard to the finish line. Their last appearance is in Bowser's Galaxy Generator in the mission, Bowser's Fortified Fortress, where they are exclusively located on a cylindrical planet. Players can dodge their line of fire by using the Spin Drill to dig through the dirt. The Spin Drill is also the only other object in the game that can defeat Banzai Bills. During Bowser's Big Bad Speed Run, the Banzai Bills are replaced by Octoombas.

Super Mario 3D Land[]

Banzai Bill 3D

Mario in between two Banzai Bills being fired.

Banzai Bills return as enemies again. They appear to be more similar to their Super Mario World counterparts than the Banzai Bills in later games, as they lack the red highlights on their eyes and do not spin around when fired. Unlike earlier 3D installments of the Super Mario series, a Banzai Bill can be defeated from being jumped on by Mario or Luigi; other methods of defeating a Banzai Bill include touching them as Statue Mario or using a Boomerang thrown by Boomerang Mario.

Banzai Bills appear only in three levels. They are first encountered in World 8-5, where players need to dodge the line of incoming Banzai Bills while traversing through Reversible Platforms. They later reappear in the special level Special 2-Airship, where players can snag the second Star Medal of the level directly in front of the Banzai Bill Cannon. Later in the level, players need to avoid Banzai Bills while navigating through Donut Lifts and avoiding Spike Platforms. In Special 4-3, players are chased by Banzai Bills while they are on the wooden bridge, after experiencing many pairs of Bullet Bills beforehand.

New Super Mario Bros. 2[]

Banzai Bill Sky

Mario above a Banzai Bill.

Banzai Bills return as enemies and retain their attack patterns from previous titles. Whenever Mario touches a Gold Ring, Banzai Bills turn gold. In this state, they leave a trail of two rows of coins behind them. Players additionally can defeat Banzai Bills with gold fireballs when they are powered up into Gold Mario via the Gold Flower.

Banzai Bills first appear in World 5-5, where they are fired from a single Banzai Bill Cannon at the end of the level. Players can obtain the third Star Coin near the Banzai Bill Cannon by using Bullet Bills to grab the Star Coin. In World 6-B, past the Checkpoint Flag, players encounter and dodge Bullet Bills and Banzai Bills fired at them while riding on a moving, colored platform.

As for downloadable content, Banzai Bills appear in Coin Challenge Pack B, in the sky-themed Second Course level of the pack and Platform Panic Pack, in the subterranean lava-themed Third Course level of the pack. In Second Course of Coin Challenge Pack B, Banzai Bills appear in the latter portion of the second area of the level, where players can make use of Gold Rings to make Banzai Bills drop coins behind them. In Third Course of Platform Panic Pack, in the first Spine Coaster ride, one Banzai Bill is fired at the end of the ride. In the second Spine Coaster ride past the Midpoint Flag, three Banzai Bills are fired near the end of the area past where the P-Switch falls down, with each Banzai Bill being higher than the last, where they can be used akin to stepping stones.

New Super Mario Bros. U/New Super Luigi U/New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe[]

Banzai Bill Snow

A Banzai Bill emerging from it's cannon as the Mario Crew progress.

Banzai Bills also appear in New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, where they make their only appearance in the level Scaling the Mountainside in the Frosted Glacier world. They operate in the same manner as in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. In Scaling the Mountainside, players need to dodge incoming Banzai Bills through the use of platform pulleys near the end of the level. The Banzai Bill Cannon can then be found at the end of the level, where players can use it as a platform to reach the flagpole.

Banzai Bills also appear in New Super Luigi U where they are much more common then they were in the predecessor, this time in the Weighty Waddlewings level, where they are very common along with the Banzai Bill Cannon. In a similar parallel to New Super Mario Bros. U's Scaling the Mountainside, this level is also snow-themed and has the similar function of using platform pulleys to navigate through the level. This level features only Banzai Bills and no regular Bullet Bills at all. A few Banzai Bills are also seen in the first area Larry's Trigger-Happy Castle, where all other Bullet Bill varieties can be found, including Torpedo Teds and King Bills; these Banzai Bills are fired from offscreen areas rather than from Banzai Bill Cannons. In Para-Beetle Parade, four Banzai Bills are also fired from offscreen areas while players are attempting to navigate the skies with Para-Beetles and Heavy Para-Beetles. They start appearing soon after the first Star Coin is collected, guarded by a Mega Piranha Plant. These four Banzai Bills are required to be used as stepping stones to proceed further on the level, towards Para-Beetles that are out of reach by other means.

Super Mario 3D World / Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury[]

Banzai Bill Fire

A Banzai Bill being fired from its Cannon.

Banzai Bills return in Super Mario 3D World, with the same attack pattern as in previous games, and they appear in a total of two levels in the game. The game also introduces the Cat Banzai Bill, a new variety of Banzai Bill. Incidentally, Cat Banzai Bills appear before regular Banzai Bills, appearing in The Bullet Bill Express of World 3, while Banzai Bills do not appear until Mystery House Mad Dash of World 4, where players need to avoid them and Crates to obtain the third Green Star.

In Bullet Bill Base, Banzai Bills appear in the latter part of the level, after the player touches the Midpoint Flag and traverses past the permeable cloud platforms on the way up. This area has a large amount of space to accommodate for the larger size of the Banzai Bill.

Unlike in previous games, Banzai Bills in this game have blue flame thrusting them through the air, while they used red flame in preceding games. Compared to their appearance in Super Mario 3D Land, their eyes have the red highlights present in the New Super Mario Bros. games, but they do not spin around when they are fired, retaining their static animation when flying.

Super Mario Odyssey[]

Bullet Bill and Banzai Bill

Mario as a Bullet Bill flying by a Banzai Bill.

Banzai Bills appear in Super Mario Odyssey, where they can be found in the Underground Moon Caverns in the Moon Kingdom wearing top hats and in secret areas in the Snow Kingdom, Wooded Kingdom and the Dark Side. They are launched from Banzai Bill Cannons once again, and destroy stone blocks upon contact, they are also able to home in on Mario making this the first game since Super Mario 64 where they are able to do so. Like regular Bullet Bills, they explode after a little while. Mario can capture Banzai Bills with Cappy, allowing him to fly over pits and defeat Bullet Bills that run into him, he can also accelerate much faster then with a regular Bullet Bill. Every time the player captures a Banzai Bill, a remix of the Starman theme plays.

Super Mario Maker 2[]

Banzai Bill NES

Banzai Bills in the Super Mario Bros. style of Super Mario Maker 2.

Banzai Bills appear as placeable enemies, following an absence from Super Mario Maker and its Nintendo 3DS version. They can be placed in all five game styles. Banzai Bills can be fired from up, down, left, or right and retain their behavior from the 2D games. In the Super Mario 3D World style, Missile Banzai Bills can also be fired from the background and defeat enemies such as Goombas and explode upon contact with a wall. Missile Banzai Bills and Cat Banzai Bills also appear in the game, Banzai Bills can be defeated with jumps or the effects of a Starman.

In Hotel Mario[]

Banzai Bill HM sprite

Banzai Bills are enemies encountered in Lemmy's High-ate Regency Hotel, moving diagonally across the screen. More appear at once on higher stages, but they can be defeated with a jump. They sometimes trigger when a Flying Goomba is defeated.

In Mario Kart series[]

Mario Kart: Double Dash!![]

While Banzai Bills do not appear, a kart based on the Banzai Bill named the Bullet Blaster appears as Bowser Jr.'s main vehicle, which is unlockable in the game itself.

Mario Kart 7[]

Banzai Bill Ammo

Banzai Bills appear as obstacles in the DS Airship Fortress, taking over the role that Bullet Bills originally had in Mario Kart DS. Banzai Bills travel in a straight line and any player who touches the Banzai Bill gets flipped over and loses 3 Coins in the process.

Mario Kart Arcade GP DX[]

Like Mario Kart: Double Dash, while Banzai Bills do not appear, a vehicle based on them named the Road Jetter is an airplane-based vehicle that has the design of a Banzai Bill on the front of the vehicle.

In Super Princess Peach[]

Banzai Bill SPP sprite

Banzai Bills return as enemies, retaining their behavior from Super Mario World and also sporting a similar appearance as well. However, Banzai Bills do not perform their tell-tale firing sound to alert players that they are going to appear on the screen. Despite their large size, players can still pick them up and eat them with Perry to replenish the Vibe Gauge if they press X Button on them, and Peach can defeat them if she swings Perry at the right moment.

Banzai Bills first appear in the world, Hoo's Wood with their first level appearance being in Hoo's Wood 2-4, where they appear in an area where the second Toad is found, after the player uses the Gloom vibe on the water wheel. They are later seen in Gleam Glacier 6-3, in an auto-sidescrolling section in the latter, penultimate area of the level where they get fired at the player from the right. In Giddy Sky 7-2, Banzai Bills appear throughout this area after the second darkened lightning cloud segment of the stage, being the fifth area of the stage. In Giddy Sky 7-5, Banzai Bills appear in the fifth, windy segment of the stage, where they appear randomly around the stage, generally aiming for the player.

This game also introduces a red, more dangerous variant of Banzai Bills known as Mad Banzai Bills, which fly faster than normal Banzai Bills.

In Mario Strikers Charged[]

Banzai Bills make a small cameo in the Sand Tomb field. In this game, they are painted with their Super Mario World appearance on one of the pillars in the background.

In Mario & Luigi series[]

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story / Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey[]

Banzai Bill Item

Banzai Bill Item DX

Bowser and his minions with the Banzai Bill in the remake.

A Banzai Bill appears in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey as a key item. In Dimble Wood, Bowser sees Private Goomp, Corporal Paraplonk and Sergeant Guy carrying a Banzai Bill Cannon. They explain to Bowser that they are going to fire a Banzai Bill to Bowser's Castle, which is taken over by Fawful, as payback. The three, however, do not have any Banzai Bills; Bowser has to search one on his own. It seems that a Wiggler on a farm has a Banzai Bill after Bowser pulled out his Giga-Carrot, which Bowser has to eat. He was originally going to use the carrot as a substitute for the Banzai Bill, though the Wiggler tells him to eat it as a responsibility. After the carrot is eaten up, Bowser could choose to save or to get the Banzai Bill right now. Once he asks for the Banzai Bill, the Wiggler gets mad because Bowser pulled out the carrot and ate it, even though he told Bowser to do so, and also because he never expected Bowser to finish the Carrot in time. After battle, Bowser finally gets the Banzai Bill and gives it to Private Goomp, Corporal Paraplonk and Sergeant Guy, which is then launched at Bowser's former castle. However, Midbus and two other Goombas see the Banzai Bill and dodge it by making the castle fly into the air. The castle then heads for Bowser, lands on him, and initiates the first Giant Bowser battle. The Banzai Bill is not seen again for the rest of the game and it's unknown what happened to it but it's highly likely it landed into the ocean.

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team[]

Banzai Bill Run

Mario outruns the Banzai Bill fired by Sergeant Guy.

A single Banzai Bill appears in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, in the battle with the Elite Trio. When attacking, Sergeant Guy ground pounds the cannon, causing the Banzai Bill to come out. The Banzai Bill then chases after Mario, where he then needs to outrun it. If outran, the Banzai Bill touches down onto Sergeant Guy instead. Additionally, if Mario attacks the cannon before the Banzai Bill is fired, it causes the Banzai Bill to be fired prematurely, causing massive damage to all enemies.

In Paper Mario series[]

Paper Mario: Sticker Star[]

Banzai Bill Zoom

The Banzai Bill blasts large holes in the Airship walls.

Banzai Bills appear in Paper Mario: Sticker Star, in which Bowser Jr. fires one from his airship of Bowser Jr.'s Flotilla to prevent Mario and Kersti from reaching Bowser's Castle. Later in the level, Mario paperizes the Banzai Bill Cannon to shoot a Banzai Bill, making a huge hole in the flotilla thus creating a path for progression, once this is done, the Banzai Bill Cannon deactivates. If Mario is hit by these Banzai Bills, they take away 30 HP meaning if Mario hasn't collected any HP-Up Hearts up to this point, a single hit from a Banzai Bill will instantly kill him.

Paper Mario: Color Splash[]

Banzai Bill Strike

The Banzai Bill about to strike a large area of Sunglow Ridge.

Banzai Bill Factory

The Banzai Bill factory seen in Black Bowser's Castle.

Banzai Bills appear in Paper Mario: Color Splash and are used as missile bombs. They are filled up with black paint in the factory in Black Bowser's Castle. When they crash, a dark skull cloud is created as a result of the impact, and they scatter black paint over a large area. These Banzai Bills can take away 30 HP from Mario if their hit is successful. One particular Banzai Bill fills part of Sunglow Ridge with black paint. Black Bowser planned to use the Banzai Bills to cover the entire World in Black Paint, luckily, Mario and Huey managed to defeat him and return him back to normal thus ending the operation.

In Mario Party series[]

Mario Party: Island Tour[]

Banzai Bill Launch

The Banzai Bill launched from it's cannon in Banzai Bill's Mad Mountain.

A Banzai Bill appears in Mario Party: Island Tour as the main gimmick of the Banzai Bill's Mad Mountain board. If a player rolls the die and rolls the Banzai Bill icon, the Banzai Bill will shoot out of its cannon and knock the players to the last checkpoint. However, the Banzai Bill can travel only along the lower path or the upper path at any given time.

Mario Party 10[]

Banzai Bill Attack

A Banzai Bill as seen in the minigame.

Banzai Bills appear in Mario Party 10 in a minigame, where they are summoned by Kamek in the second half of Kamek's Rocket Rampage when Kamek gets half of his health depleted. These are larger and therefore more difficult to dodge than the normal Bullet Bills he spawns. Banzai Bills take three points away if players get hit by them, which is the most damaging enemy in this minigame.

Crossover appearances[]

Super Smash Bros. series[]

Super Smash Bros. Melee[]

Banzai Bill SSBM

A Banzai Bill in the Princess Peach's Castle stage in Super Smash Bros. Melee

Banzai Bills are stage hazards on the Princess Peach's Castle stage. They appear in set angles, from either the top, side, or diagonally; a firing sound and their traveling sound is an indicator of their approach. The Banzai Bill can inflict small damage and knockback to any fighters on contact. Once burrowed into a castle wall, the Banzai Bill digs into the wall and eventually explodes. The resulting explosion not only causes massive damage and knockback to anyone caught within it, but it also presses any buttons in range, activating platforms and ! Blocks. The explosion can also destroy or activate destructible items.

A Banzai Bill, depicted with a sprite-based appearance from Super Mario World, appears in the background of the Yoshi's Island stage (which also applies to the returning stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U). It has no effect on the stage itself.

A Banzai Bill also appears as a trophy. In original North American releases, the trophy is incorrectly named "Bullet Bill" when set to English, but it is correctly identified as Banzai Bill in all other versions, including Japanese. Another error is that the origin game is incorrectly marked as Super Mario Bros. when Super Mario World is the first appearance of them.

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS[]

Banzail Bill SSB4 3DS

A Banzai Bill in Smash Run mode of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS

Banzai Bills are featured as enemies in Smash Run mode. Like normal Bullet Bills, Banzai Bills attack by homing in on the fighter and flying toward them. If players touch Banzai Bills, they take fire damage and get knocked back. Banzai Bills have above-average health, but if one takes a strong enough hit, they can get stunned and fall to the ground, open to attack, momentarily. If a Banzai Bill embeds itself into a wall, it explodes after a while, but it releases no power-ups.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U[]

A Banzai Bill sometimes appears as a random event in Smash Tour mode. A warning appears at the beginning of the turn, and at the end a Banzai Bill hits the board and explodes, dropping numerous stat boosts and launching any Miis caught in the blast. There is also a trophy of a Banzai Bill that can be unlocked by clearing a Solo 3-Minute Smash after getting 110 or more KOs while playing as Bowser.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess[]

In The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, the cannon operator Fyer has a Banzai Bill sewn on his sleeve.

Skylanders: SuperChargers[]

The Banzai Bill appears as a mod for Hammer Slam Bowser's Clown Cruiser. It grants the vehicle better top speed and gives the jet extra propellers under the wings.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle[]

Mario wields a weapon in the blaster category that is designed after the Banzai Bill, called the Bwahnzai Bill. It can be bought for 720 coins and it deals 55-65 damage against opponents. Its super effect causes a bounce that deals 85 damage, and it has a 30% chance of occurring. The range of the blaster is 10 cells, an average range, and its cover damage is low.

A Banzai Bill can also be seen in the background of World 2-2, ensnared in a giant pair of underwear. After defeating the Icicle Golem, it can also be found outside Peach's Castle, still caught in underwear. Notably, this is the first time a Banzai Bill has been shown with a different expression.

Banzai Bills, here known as Magnum Bills, have appeared in a few episodes, such as "Mama Luigi." Their name possibly combines "Bullet Bill" with Magnum Killer, their Japanese name. The Magnum Bill is depicted with square teeth.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie[]

"You asked for it!"
—Mario decides to attack one of the Bomber Bill's eyes to stop its attack as it closes in on Peach's Castle.
Banzai Bill Mario Movie

The Bomber Bill pursues Mario past Peach's Castle.

A single Banzai Bill, known as the Bomber Bill, appears during the climax of The Super Mario Bros. Movie. It (voiced by Jamie Foxx) was summoned after Bowser, from reaching his breaking point, decided to try and destroy the entirety of the Mushroom Kingdom with its explosion. Mario, as Tanooki Mario, attempted to stop it by force, but it was too big to be halted. Instead, Mario was able to attack its eye with his tail, causing the Bomber Bill to lock onto him and pursue him throughout the Mushroom Kingdom. Mario was then able to lead it down a Warp Pipe where it eventually explodes and causes an explosion massive enough to knock everyone, including Bowser, his fleet, and his castle, into Brooklyn. Design-wise, it shares its design with its video game counterpart, but apparently much larger, and the cannon that launched it is now located in the volcano on his skyship. In the Bomber Bill's angry state, its eyes shrink.

Banzai Bills are also used for the training course that Princess Peach sets up for Mario, although these ones do not explode.
