Bananas are a type of fruit featured in several Mario games. They are frequently featured in the form of Banana Peels, a recurring Mario Kart item often named Bananas themselves.

In Yoshi's Story

Bananas are one of the five fruits, being the favorite one of Yellow Yoshi.

In Mario Party 9

Unlike previous boards, Mini Stars and Mini Ztars (which are the successor to coins and stars from previous installments of the Mario Party series) are replaced by Bananas and Z-Bananas. And they appear on the board DK's Jungle Ruins. But they (Bananas and Z-Bananas) have a similar function as Mini Stars and Mini Ztars. At the end of the game, bonus stars award the player ten Bananas.
