Balloon (platform)

Not to be confused with Hot Air Balloon.

Balloons are a type of platform that characters can ride on. These types of balloons first appeared in Donkey Kong Land, but different ones with a smiling face on the front were created for the Yoshi platformers, in which they debuted in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, and went on to also appear in Super Princess Peach.

In Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island[]

Balloons appear in red, green, yellow, and purple, although this does not indicate any difference in their behavior. They are featured in the level 4-3: Don't Look Back!.
