The Balcony is a room in Luigi's Mansion and its Nintendo 3DS version.
Description[]
The Balcony is a large open area on the third floor of the mansion, on the north end of the property. There are a lot of plants that can be watered as well as benches around the edges. There are two large winged unicorn statues, one on each side of the Balcony, and several lanterns lining the outside of the Balcony.
In Luigi's Mansion[]
The Balcony is the final room accessed during Area Three. However, if Luigi has not caught at least twenty Boos, a particularly-transparent Boo, referring to itself as "the mysterious power of the Boos," will block him from opening the door to the Balcony and whisk him back to the Foyer. After Luigi captures at least twenty Boos, he can exit the mansion to the Balcony.
The Balcony is where the boss fight against Boolossus takes place. A difference during the battle is the winged unicorn statues are frozen and spawn an Ice Elemental Ghost. After Luigi defeats Boolossus, a large treasure chest containing a blue diamond-shaped key to Area Four appears.
Right after Luigi unlocks the door to Area Four, the game briefly shows a view from behind the Balcony of lightning striking the mansion, triggering a blackout not just in the Balcony area but in other areas of the mansion as well. Two Gold Ghosts, two Purple Punchers, and two Blue Twirlers appear in the Balcony during the blackout.
