Baby Mario and Baby Peach: Dynamic Duo is the seventh level of World 1 in Yoshi's Island DS. A Red Yoshi takes control in this level. Like Mario's Fleet Feet, this level takes place in a forest of colorful pine trees. The level has many Stork Stops and primarily revolves around switching between Baby Mario and Baby Peach and using their abilities to overcome the obstacles ahead. This level also marks the debut of the Super Star, a powerful item that turns Baby Mario into an invincible superhuman that can fly and run up walls and ceilings. There are also vines located throughout this level which Baby DK can use once he is unlocked.

Walkthrough[]

Starting off the level, advance to the right and tag the first Stork Stop, assuming you're using Baby Peach, switch to Baby Mario to make the nearby M Blocks solid and hop onto them to reach the ledge upahead. On this ledge, grab the two Red Coins above the M Blocks and hop to the nearby ledge with the Winged Cloud, hit the Winged Cloud with an egg for some Stars and drop back down to the main path defeating the Shy Guys and Crazee Dayzees along the way, hop onto the ledge and you will see some M Blocks blocking the path down, advance to the left using the nearby set of M Blocks as a platform to reach the ledge where the Stork Stop is and switch to Baby Peach, after this, the M Blocks should disappear and you should be able to obtain the Smiley Flower as well as hit the ! Switch to temporarily activate the wind to soar to the high ledge above (if you fail to reach the ledge in time, don't panic, just hit the ! Switch again for another attempt) and continue along the path grabbing the Coins and two Red Coins here, after this, drop back down, switch to Baby Mario, hit the next ! Switch to activate the switch blocks, run across them before time runs out whilst collecting the Coins and three Red Coins here, at the path's end, hop down the Pipe.

In this secret room, you will come across a Super Star, a special item that only Baby Mario can obtain (other babies are unable to use it's effects), in this form, Yoshi will briefly transform into a Giant Yoshi Egg and Baby Mario will become a invincible caped baby capable of gliding, climbing up walls and ceilings, and running at extremely fast speeds. There are heaps of Coins in this room and even a Smiley Flower but no Red Coins, Baby Mario can collect multiple Super Stars to prolong the effects of his invincibility, he can also run around the spherical platforms in an endless loop. Once you've obtained all the goodies and the effects wear off, Yoshi will return and you can exit through the Pipe.

Upon returning to the main level, advance to the right and beat the Piranha Plant in your way, in the next area, you will come across a staircase of M Blocks which are blocking a Pipe, here, you will find some transparent M Blocks, hit them (as Baby Mario) to make them appear (when M Blocks are hit, they remain solid even when you switch out to Baby Peach) and climb them to reach the Stork Stop, switch out to Baby Peach and advance back down (to the left, there is a secret area that only Baby DK can typically access due to his vine-climbing abilities but by bringing a Shy Guy to the ledge (with Yoshi's tongue) and stomping on it for some extra oomph, Yoshi can reach the ledge, crack the block there with ground pound to reveal a hidden Winged Cloud which contains a 1-Up), enter the previously blocked-off Pipe to reach a secret area with a Smiley Flower, grab the flower and return back to the main level advance to the right and through the transparent M Blocks and tag the Middle Ring, hop across the transparent M Blocks (if you fall, use Baby Peach's umbrella to glide out of the abyss) and switch to Baby Mario, the M Blocks block off the pits and hit the transparent M Block staircases to solidify them before switching back to Baby Peach and climbing them, soar across the winds and grab some Coins and three Red Coins here, and use the wind at the end to fly higher.

In the next section, you may seem trapped with nowhere else to go but advance to the right through the wall and a path is revealed, continue down the path (whilst avoiding some Tap-Taps here) and continue to the right, drop down and you will find an area with some vines (keep these in mind for later when you unlock Baby DK), there is a Smiley Flower in the air above, an egg should be able to secure it for you, there is also a M Block here (which Baby Mario can hit for two Stars) and in the niche to the left, there are two invisible Winged Clouds, either use eggs or the two Shy Guys in the area to open these clouds for Stars and a 1-Up. After this, use the Spring Ball to return to the main path, hop to the upper path, you can make the Tap-Taps more manageable by knocking them into the pits with either Yoshi's tongue or an egg, after this, run past the Stork Stop and hop through the transparent M Block staircase and jump through the hidden path on the ledge, you will get Coins on your way down, there is also a Stork Stop here, move to the right and grab the two Red Coins at the end, upon returning back to the M Block staircase, switch to Baby Mario and climb the M Blocks, hop to the nearby ledge to reveal a hidden niche with two Red Coins, continue along the path (with accurate flutter jumps, you can hit these M Blocks to solidify them and use a Shy Guy to propel up to the upper platforms to clear this area with Baby Peach), upon entering the tunnel, you will come across your second Morph Bubble, the Yoshi Mole Tank, you can use this ability to squeeze through the tunnel and plow through the dirt blocking it, there are several Coins stashed here and there are also three Red Coins located near the end, once you're done, hit the Yoshi Block at the end to switch back to regular Yoshi and drop down and grab the Coins before entering the Pipe.

Upon reaching the next area, advance to the left to find a secret nook with an egg and an Arrow Cloud, hit the Arrow Cloud with an egg to launch the egg in that direction along the track of Arrow Clouds grabbing the Coins in the path and the Smiley Flower at the end, from here, continue to the right entering more niches in the small hill-like structures, one of these contains a Red Coin. Enter the large structural niche to the right (by hopping on the floating block) and hit the Winged Cloud to make a Flower Plant appear. Climb up the Flower Plant and hop on the moving Flatbed Ferry and hit the hovering Fly Guy above (it is carrying a Red Coin and return from whence you came and take the path down, advance to the left and grab some eggs from the Egg Block and toss an egg at the Arrow Clouds so they follow the track into the Tulip, upon tossing an enemy or egg into the Tulip, you get 8 bonus Stars, continue to the right and switch out to Baby Peach get rid of the Shy Guy and Tap-Tap here and hit the ! Switch to activate the wind, grab the Key from the floating Baron Von Zeppelin and soar up to the Flatbed Ferry (where you hit the Fly Guy for a Red Coin and enter the niche to the right and enter the door at the end to play a minigame (Speed Eating) after the minigame is done, advance to the left and return to the level's main path, you can finish the level with whichever baby you choose, advance to the niche to the right, avoid the Tap-Taps, use the Spring Balls and grab the Coins and Red Coin here, upon reaching the top, you will reach an area with several Shy Guys, Woozy Guys, and Tap-Taps, (the right platform here has a hidden Winged Cloud with some Stars, hit it if you are short) and trek towards the end, as you exit the hut a Fly Guy holding the final Red Coin soars into view, be sure to hit it with an egg or else it's going to fly away, after this, jump through the GOAL! Ring to finish the level.
