In his first appearance, he was kidnapped by Kamek along with the Stork and taken to Baby Bowser while being delivered by the stork. The Yoshis take Baby Mario on a journey to rescue Baby Luigi.

In the ending, after Baby Bowser has been defeated, Yoshi and Baby Mario find both the Stork and Baby Luigi. The Stork returns both babies back to their home, and the last scene shows a close-up of both Baby Mario and Baby Luigi being held by their parents.

Yoshi's Island DS[]

Baby Luigi is kidnapped by Bowser and Kamek while searching for the seven Star Children. Similarly as before, the Yoshis take Baby Mario on a journey to rescue him, with a few more babies joining along the way, including Baby Peach, Baby Wario, Baby Donkey Kong, and Baby Bowser.

Yoshi's New Island[]

In the intro, Baby Luigi and Baby Mario are revealed to have been delivered to the wrong parents, and as the Stork tries to find the correct parents, Baby Luigi is kidnapped by Kamek once more. Baby Mario and Yoshis go on another journey to rescue Baby Luigi, this time on Egg Island. The game ends with Baby Luigi being rescued, as well as he and Baby Mario being delivered to the correct parents.

Yoshi Touch & Go[]

Yoshi has to rescue Baby Luigi by hitting the Toadies carrying him with eggs. In multiplayer mode, the second player's Yoshi carries Baby Luigi instead of Baby Mario.

Baby Luigi is a playable character for the first time. His default partner is Baby Mario, and both of them are lightweight. Baby Luigi's personal kart is the Rattle Buggy. Both he and Baby Mario have the Chain Chomp as their Special Item, as well as their own personal course, Baby Park. There is a large banner in Baby Park depicting both Baby Luigi and Baby Mario in an art style akin to Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.

Baby Luigi and Baby Mario are the characters used in the Staff Ghosts of both Baby Park and Sherbet Land.

Mario Kart Arcade GP 2[]

Baby Luigi makes a cameo with Baby Mario throughout Yoshi Park 1, and the two of them are featured on one of the sponsors, Baby Land.

Mario Kart Wii[]

Baby Luigi is an unlockable playable racer. He can be unlocked by either unlocking eight Expert Staff Ghost Data in Time Trials or playing 3,150 races. Prior to the discontinuation of Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, it was also possible to unlock Baby Luigi by playing 100 WFC Ghost Races. Baby Luigi retains his lightweight classification, so he generally has high acceleration, handling, drifting, and Mini-Turbo whilst also having lower speed and weight in general. Baby Luigi's karts are green and have the same trademark "L" emblem as Luigi's. He is tied with Baby Daisy for having the best speed bonus for small drivers. However, Baby Luigi's biggest bonus is weight, as well as Baby Mario's.

Baby Luigi is the Staff Ghost character in N64 Sherbet Land, which is the second consecutive time where he has this role in a course named "Sherbet Land".

There is a statue of Baby Luigi dancing with Baby Daisy in Daisy Circuit, as well as another with their adult counterparts, Luigi and Princess Daisy.

Mario Kart 8[]

Baby Luigi (Mario Kart 8)

Baby Luigi is a playable racer. He is a lightweight driver, like in his previous playable appearances. Baby Luigi's stats heavily favor acceleration, handling, and grip at the cost of speed and weight, like with the baby characters and Lemmy Koopa. Baby Luigi is used by Nin★Massim as the Staff Ghost character in Water Park.

Baby Luigi and Baby Mario's personal course, GCN Baby Park, returns in the Animal Crossing x Mario Kart 8 downloadable pack. The starting banner is updated to 3D artwork of Baby Mario and Baby Luigi. As a CPU, Baby Luigi sometimes uses the Biddybuggy body paired with Standard tires, like the other baby characters.

Baby Luigi now has a different emblem than Luigi, unlike in Mario Kart Wii. The colors are reversed to have a green background with a white L, which is now surrounded by bonnet frills.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe[]

Baby Luigi retains his role from Mario Kart 8. His stats are different, and they are shared by only Baby Mario, Dry Bones, and small Miis. Baby Luigi has higher top speed and weight than Baby Peach, Baby Daisy, Baby Rosalina, and Lemmy Koopa, but his acceleration is either equal to or higher than theirs. However, Baby Luigi has lower handling, traction, and mini-turbo than the four of them. As a CPU, Baby Luigi can sometimes equip the Pipe Frame with Standard tires and Paraglider as well as Mr. Scooty with Roller tires and Super Glider.

Mario Kart Tour[]

Baby Luigi is a downloadable character since the 2019 Halloween Tour. His Special Skill is the Boomerang Flower, like with Baby Mario. Baby Luigi does not have any cosmetic variants, unlike many other drivers.

Mario Power Tennis[]

Baby Luigi and Baby Mario briefly cameo in the opening cutscene, being among the spectators for the doubles match between Mario and Luigi against Wario and Waluigi.

Mario Baseball series[]

Mario Superstar Baseball[]

Baby Luigi is an unlockable playable character. The player can unlock Baby Luigi by completing Challenge Mode with Yoshi's team, Yoshi Eggs. Baby Luigi is classified as a speed character, so he excels at stealing bases and maneuvering as an outfielder. Baby Luigi's special ability is Wall Jump, meaning that he can rebound off walls to catch any balls that would have otherwise been a homerun for the opposing team. Baby Luigi's lowest stat is batting, making him unlikely to hit balls a far distance. Baby Luigi also has a low fielding stat, so he throws balls slowly. Baby Luigi excels in speed, allowing him to run between bases quicker. Baby Luigi has positive chemistry with Baby Mario and Yoshi whilst having bad chemistry with Boo, King Boo, and Shy Guy.

In Challenge Mode, Baby Luigi is part of the Yoshi Eggs by default. His unique Star Mission is "Win Piranha Panic with no damage!", which can be cleared by fulfilling the self-explanatory objective of scoring first place in the minigame Piranha Panic without taking any damage from obstacles, such as the fireballs spit by Venus Fire Traps.

Mario Super Sluggers[]

Baby Luigi batting Sluggers

Baby Luigi is a playable character. He is available from the start, unlike in Mario Superstar Baseball. Just as before, Baby Luigi excels in speed whilst still having one of the lowest batting stats of the playable characters. Baby Luigi's fielding was improved from before. He has poor stamina, like the other baby characters. Baby Luigi's special ability was changed to Super Jump, allowing him to jump extra high on the field.

In Challenge Mode, Baby Luigi is first seen trapped in a bridge in the map of the area outside of Mario Stadium, having been caught in the bridge after Bowser Jr. raised it unexpectedly. Baby Luigi can be freed by winning against a Magikoopa and flipping the lever it guarded into certain directions, opening the bridge. The arrow directions to flipping the lever are inscribed on the sand on the beach nearby. After Baby Luigi is rescued, he points the characters toward Mario Stadium, wanting to rescue Baby Mario.

Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time[]

Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time artwork of Baby Luigi piggybacking Luigi, which he does for lots of the journey

Baby Luigi is one of the four starring Mario Bros., along with Mario, Luigi, and Baby Mario. They go on a journey to end the Shroobs' invasion of the Mushroom Kingdom during the past. Baby Luigi travels piggyback on Luigi for most of the game, but there are instances of he and Baby Mario traveling without the adults, such as if they are thrown off. There are instances of Baby Luigi laughing when Luigi is conked on the head. He and Baby Mario each acquire a Hammer in Vim Factory.

In battle, Baby Luigi battles identically to Baby Mario. His default ability is jumping, though Baby Luigi is harmed if he attempts the move on spiked enemies, like with the other Mario Bros. Once Baby Luigi and Baby Mario each have a hammer, they can use them to damage spiked enemies. As with the other Mario Bros., Baby Luigi inflicts the most damage from performing timed attacks successfully. If this is not done after a jumping attack, Baby Luigi either does a hurt-like pose. If Baby Luigi does not time a hammer attack properly, he either drops the hammer head, if he holds it back for too long, or trips and lands on his face if the player presses the button too early. Baby Luigi can use Bros. Items with one of the other Mario Bros. If Luigi faints, Baby Luigi drags him out of battle, but if Baby Luigi faints, he is carried by either Baby Mario or Mario, though the weight of carrying Baby Luigi inferes with his jumping. If Baby Mario faints, Baby Luigi carries him whenever an enemy attacks, but this similarly interferes with his jumping abilities. Compared to Baby Mario, Baby Luigi has slightly less speed and attack whilst having more HP and defense. Baby Luigi has more speed but less HP, defense, attack, and stache than Luigi.

Baby Luigi and Baby Mario both learn a few abilities to use on the field during the course of their journey: the Baby Drill, which allows them to dig underground; the Baby Spin, which allows them to reach certain areas that not even the Spin Jump can access; and the Baby Cakes, which enables them to slip underneath cracks that not even the Baby Drill can access as well as float on winds,
