Not to be confused with Small Cheep Cheep.

Baby Cheeps are the baby variations of a Cheep Cheep first appearing in Super Mario Bros. 3. They commonly appear near their mothers, Big Berthas, in underwater areas.

In Super Mario Bros. 3[]

Being young Cheep Cheeps, Baby Cheeps show little aggression and are a minimal threat, although they can still damage you upon contact, the Big Berthas will briefly keep the Baby Cheeps in their mouths to protect them from any predators. Baby Cheeps can be defeated with the effects of a Fire Flower, Starman, Super Leaf, Tanooki Suit, or Hammer Suit. If a Baby Cheep is defeated, the nearby Big Bertha will spit out another Baby Cheep requiring Mario/Luigi to defeat the Big Bertha as well. Baby Cheeps are mainly found in underwater sections of various worlds such as the Water Land and Pipe Land.

In The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3[]

Three Baby Cheeps also appeared in "Reptiles in the Rose Garden," an episode of The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3.

Trivia[]

  • Baby Cheeps are similar to the Small Cheep Cheeps found in Paper Mario: Color Splash, as both of them are a smaller variation of Cheep Cheeps. However, Small Cheep Cheeps are regular Cheep Cheeps that have been shrunk as a result of Kamek's magic.
