The B Dasher (Bダッシュ B Dasshu?, B Dash) is a kart that appears in the Mario Kart series.

A similar kart appears in Mario Kart Wii, the Sprinter (also known as the B Dasher MK2). The Circuit Special from Mario Kart 8 also bears a striking resemblance to the B Dasher, so both the Sprinter and Circuit Special can be considered to be spiritual successors for the B Dasher.

Description[]

The kart is shaped like a Forumla One race car, colored white with a singular red stripe on the front. It has a window shield in front of the seat and steering wheel. It is also equipped with a large gray engine block at the rear of the kart, with four gray exhaust pipes.

In Mario Kart DS[]

B Dasher (Mario Kart DS)

The B Dasher debuted in Mario Kart DS, as Mario's exclusive kart in the game. His other karts include the Standard MR and Shooting Star. It may be his signature kart, as it was shown on the Mario Kart DS box cover.

The kart is balanced in all stats, except Weight and Items, which are the highest stats. The kart offers good Speed and Acceleration, with average Handling and Drift.

It shares its speed with Princess Daisy's Power Flower. It shares acceleration with Princess Peach's Royale. Its weight is equivalent to Luigi's Streamliner and Donkey Kong's Standard DK, but only if it is used by the latter. It shares its handling and drift with Waluigi's Zipper.

If Princess Daisy and Waluigi are unlocked, then completing all cups in the 150cc Nitro or Retro Grand Prix will give them the option to use the B Dasher, and all racers can use the B Dasher once all cups in Mirror Mode have been completed. Until then, only Mario can use the B Dasher.

A CPU-controlled Mario chooses the B Dasher to race in more frequently than his other karts.

On an interesting note, the B Dasher lacks its window shield. It is unknown if this was an unintentional mistake.

In Mario Kart 7[]

The B Dasher returns as a Retro Kart body in Mario Kart 7. It is noticeably more powerful than its original appearance in DS, as it has more speed and handling, but hinders acceleration and off-road. It is among one of the most popular karts to use within the game.

A computer-controlled Mario has the tendency to use the B Dasher kart body, equipping it with Slick or Roller tires with the Super Glider. He may also equip the B Dasher with Mushroom tires along with either the Paraglider or Flower Glider.

Equipping the B Dasher with the Standard tires will resemble the original DS version.

The B Dasher, equipped with Slick tires and the Super Glider as Mario is used as the Expert Staff Ghosts for courses Mario Circuit and SNES Mario Circuit 2.

In Mario Kart 8 / Deluxe[]

The B Dasher makes a return in Mario Kart 8 in the first DLC pack. It gives a boost in speed and weight but decreases acceleration and traction.

In the Nintendo Switch enhanced port, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the B Dasher can be unlocked by collecting a random amount of coins. Also, the B Dasher acceleration and traction is slightly increased, whilst handling is decreased.

During races, a computer-controlled Mario may use this kart body with the Standard tires and Super Glider. Like 7, equipping it with Standard tires will also resemble the original version from Mario Kart DS.

In Mario Kart Tour[]

The B Dasher appears in Mario Kart Tour. Its appearance is different from previous installments, and uses the Pipe Frames tires from this game.

This kart was introduced during the New York Tour. It is classified as a High-End kart. It increases the duration of Dash Panel speed boosts and the points given for performing them.

The game also introduces four variants, such as the Black B Dasher, Kabuki Dasher, Red B Dasher and the Black Kabuki Dasher. These variants are also classified as High-End karts.

Non-canonical appearances[]

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[]

The B Dasher makes an appearance in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as an Ace-class support spirit. If a fighter equips the spirit, the spirit will slightly increase the power of the fighter's neutral special.

Like most spirit battles, the battle parameters are intended to match the spirit. In B Dasher's spirit's case, Mario's wedding costume from Super Mario Odyssey matches the kart's default color scheme. The "Uncontrollable Speed" rule matches its low acceleration and poor traction.
