WarioWare

A Moment of Reflection is a recurring microgame in the WarioWare series. It first appears in WarioWare: Smooth Moves, as one of Kat and Ana's microgames, and then in WarioWare Gold, as one of Ashley and Red's microgames.

Gameplay[]

The player's objective is to direct the light beam, reflecting it with a mirror, to the nearest character's head for a few moments. The mirror can be rotated by turning the Wii Remote left or right in WarioWare: Smooth Moves or the Nintendo 3DS left or right in WarioWare Gold. If this task is accomplished, the player wins at the microgame, but if they are unsuccessful, the player loses.

Difficulty levels[]

The difficulty levels have different setups between the two games.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves[]

  • Level 1: The targeted character is standing still on the left side. If the player wins the microgame, the character's hair burns off.
  • Level 2: Features a similar set up as in Level 1, but with one added mirror. The player has to direct the beam to the second mirror, which then shines on the nearest character's head. The effect of doing so is the opposite as in the first difficulty level, as this causes the character to grow hair instead. However, using the second mirror is not required to win the microgame.
  • Level 3: There are two characters on the right side of the screen, moving back and forth. Similarly to the second stage, there is an additional mirror to direct the light beam to before shining it on the character's head, but using the second mirror is still not a requirement. Winning the microgame has the effect of turning the character's hair into a rainbow, which then stretches across the screen.

WarioWare Gold[]

  • Level 1: There is a stationary blue spirit in a top corner. Winning at the microgame turns the blue spirit into a yellow figure.
  • Level 2: There is a stationary yellow figure in a bottom corner and one additional mirror. The player has to direct the beam to the second mirror, which then shines on the yellow figure, causing it to grow hair.
  • Level 3: The yellow figure is moving back and forth in a bottom corner. Similarly to the second stage, there is an additional mirror that directs the light beam. Upon winning the microgame, the yellow figure turns into a doodle that resembles either Mona, Ashley, or Penny.

Trivia[]

  • The microgame's name is shared with the phrase "a moment of reflection," referring to when one has a moment to think back on something. In the microgame's case, given the use of a mirror, its name is a play on the phrase.
